Training Principles
As we develop the training program with our partners, we are guided by these principles.
- To offer defence attorneys and lawyers a possibility of acquiring a practical and theoretical experience concerning international criminal law and human rights law.
- To contribute to legal reform by increasing awareness of international criminal and human rights legislation and practice, domestic law, and comparative jurisprudence among key individuals in the legal sector - lawyers, judges, justice ministry members, academics, human rights activists.
- To disseminate legal skills, knowledge, and good practice throughout the legal sector in order to promote international criminal law, human rights and strong professional and ethical standards at international, national, and regional levels.
- To address the challenges of practising and harmonizing civil, common and customary law.
- To empower advocates and human rights activists to expand the scope of human rights protections by facilitating communication between members of legal and human rights groups both internationally and nationally.
- To engage lawyers and activists into the wider network of lawyers and legal activities being developed across the world.
- To design our programme so as to harness the expertise of criminal lawyers and Bars on a pro bono basis to address bilingual and jurisprudential issues.
